Year in review: Gaining momentum in 2022
Our biggest year yet
NPDESPro hit several milestones this year, and we couldn’t have done it without our users! Our biggest achievement this year was releasing Good Housekeeping — a municipal management module with MS4 mapping, inspections, a complete work order system, and more. The concept of an asset management style solution had been in the works for years, so our team was ecstatic to see it come to life.
Key features of Good Housekeeping, like “geofencing”, which allows inspectors to view storm structures within a set radius of their location, were built in response to discussions with users.
Likewise, we developed MS4 Metrics due to the differences we were seeing in stormwater program operations. Our team received several requests for custom fields to be added within NPDESPro that were specific to each jursidiction, which inspired us to build a module for users to create their own programs, metrics, and reports. With this year’s release of MS4 Metrics, users now have a tracking module tailored to them, without the added customization fees.
Creating efficient and adaptable solutions
Developing a platform that is adaptable ensures that we’re providing a solution that works for MS4s nationwide. NPDESPro, while a standardized application, is designed with editing capabilities throughout. This allows jurisdictions to modify the system to better fit their program needs. Due to feedback received from users, our focus this year was on expanding data filtering options and increasing inspection form customization. Here is a list of features that were implemented in response:
Custom site filters built by you
Increased customization options for construction inspection forms
Categorize and filter sites by neighborhood
Alongside adaptability, improving workflow efficiency also takes center stage during development. To that end, we launched several features this year aimed at increasing application usability and in-app communication options. Our most noteworthy additions in these categories were one-off emails, a feature that allows inspectors to email site contacts on the fly, and drag and drop multi-file uploaders.
